Post-Production: Risk Analysis

Casting:

One of the main reasons why I chose my elder sister to model for my magazine was because I needed someone who understood my expectations for my magazine in order for satisfactory photography results, and since I have always taken pictures of my sister the most, I knew she would be the only person who would understand what I meant during the entire process.

However, my sister is a medical student, which leaves her no room for sparing extra time as they have rigorous exams the entire year around. Due to this, I had to post-pone my photography shoot on multiple occasions because either my sister had exams or she was too exhausted to take time out to help me with my photography

Location:

I changed to a more metaphorical approach for my magazine at the very end and opted to shoot at home. It was risky because I only had one opportunity to get my sister to model for my magazine pictures, and so I knew I could not reschedule it some other day with another location so the pictures I had to take would be the only ones I'll have unless I changed my model which would have been an equally troublesome process as none of my other family was around to take my sister's stead.

As expected, it was difficult to shoot at home. The LED lights that I set up in order to get a darker light for my pictures to create shadows and misery started to glitch, and some of them stopped working. However, I figured my way around it and took the pictures despite that issue arising. Instead, later on, I edited my pictures in order to fix the minor lighting issues I had.

Equipment:

I opted to use my phone to take all the pictures for my Final Magazine, which is Samsung Note 8 that, I believe, has a great camera result. So, where it sounds risky, I believe my pictures turned our exactly how I wanted them to because I was more experienced on taking pictures on my phone than my professional camera and I did not want to take amy risks on the shoot day.

Weather:

Initially, I had planned to take my pictures in daylight so I could take some pictures in the sunlight. However, that did not work out in my favour as my sister had classes till evening at her college, so she got home at around 5 pm. So, instead, I used the LED lights I had bought for backup, and that is how I ended up taking my pictures.

Overall, it was a hectic process to take pictures, especially with the limitations I had. However, in my opinion, it all worked out for the better because, in the end, I got exactly the shots I had envisioned and as a media student, no joy is greater than being able to turn your mind draft into reality.
